Blanck Mass

It’s a bold move to title your album World Eater. We here at Blocland are happy to report, with his third album as Blanck Mass, Benjamin John Power absolutely backs it up. Power does so by throwing in everything including the kitchen sink. What we have here is the power electronics Power has built Blanck Mass on, but with more of the danceable elements found in Fuck Buttons. Power offers up a smorgasbord of electronic delicacies including: ambient, noise, drone, and house. All of which are held together with the kind of pulsating beats that are most definitely being played in an alternate reality where goths inhabit the clubs and have a thing ecstasy abuse. Listen to this electronic behemoth below.

World Eater is out now. Purchase it from Sacred Bones Records

Listening on repeat while trying to pound out a paper. It’s fuggin’ fantastic.

    • lobster man

Pound out that paper while this pounds out you.

      • lobster man

That may have come out wrong.

      • Cooolin

All while I’m pounding a pepperoni pizza I ordered from BLOCLAND.COM!

  • Saul_Wright

Already had it on when I loaded the page!

    • Saul_Wright

Almost didn’t give this one a fair shot cause I’m not so into the intense noise stuff, but as you put it, this is a goddamn smorgasbord of sounds and styles and I’m really diggin it.

On my forth consecutive listen, this feels like THE soundtrack to the surreal dystopian nightmare that is 2017.

    Third Album.

    • lobster man

      You’re saving blocland’s credibility.

Only because that first Blanck Mass album is a fucking ambient treasure and will go down in “put me to sleep music” history alongside Aphex Twin’s SAW85-92 and anything by The Field
