It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another edition of Meat’s Picks.  Today’s selections are a shout out to our nation’s most prolific garage rocker, Ty Segall.

Much like my own, Mr. Segall’s musical palette is diverse to the point of absurdity.  Garage rock, psychedelic garage rock, fuzzy garage rock, rocky garage rock – he does it all.  But he doesn’t do it all alone…

Over the years, Charles Frances Moothart has been a contributing member to most of Ty’s projects. He provided lead vocals and guitar in their side band Fuzz and, most recently, has put out his second solo album as CFM.  While my boy Ty may not be running the show on these two tracks, his influence can be seen all over them (they’re glorious!).

You know the rules…one old track, one new one. I hope the sonic differences aren’t too jarring. Enjoy!
