Ambient French funeral doomers, Monarch! are gearing up to release their new album Never Forever next month. For the record’s second single, they have shared the hefty opening track. Clocking in at just over fifteen minutes, “Of Night, With Knives” is a heaving mass slab of doom that’s as rich with atmosphere as it is with endless heft. The track is an ominous metal colossus that ebbs and flows to its dramatic conclusion. Sometimes eerie, sometimes beautiful, the constant being “Of Night, With Knives” never ceases to be intriguing. Give it a listen below.

Never Forever is out 9/22 on Profound Lore Records.

I think they’re missing an inverted cross from their logo 🙂 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it once more, “it is the year of Doom!!”

I keep thinking we’re getting too much doom, but with each new single I realize I’m wrong.

It crazy how much good doom keeps hitting my earholes. Every time I write it off along comes some crazy good band that brings me back. Haven’t listened to this but looking forward to it.
