I’m posting this in honor of the ultimatum that is Content Week, and because curiously I relish getting fired from my non payed job at Blocland even less than my salaried day job with local government. Besides being fired means I’d never get the opportunity to force upon you that retrospective Shitfucker review I’ve been toying with for the last few weeks. So, in order to avoid deportation to the strange alien world otherwise known as Canada, here’s the track ‘Diamonds’ by Xordox from their recently released album Neospection.
Xordox is the latest project from the man of a thousand pseudonyms, J.G. Thirlwell, although don’t go expecting the car crash of New Wave, No Wave, Big Band and Industrial that marks the sound of his most infamous and controversial persona, Foetus. Instead Xordox traffic in a more beautific sound that’s closer to something by Cluster, with fat analogue synthesizers conjuring up images of Chris Foss paintings. Someone described it as the lost soundtrack for Jodorowsky’s aborted attempt to bring Dune to the big screen in the mid 70’s. I’ll go with that too.
