At the end of the week, Converge will be returning with their eleventh full-length album The Dusk In Us. It will be the follow-up to 2012’s All We Love We Leave Behind. Judging by the album’s singles, it will be just as vital as that one and really everything in the band’s catalogue. Today, we are getting the album’s opening track with an accompanying video directed by Max Moore. “A Single Tear” is a shredding hardcore meditation on parenthood and the anxiety that goes a long with taking care of something small, helpless, and precious. They key moment here being when Jacob Bannon shouts “When I held you for the first time/ I knew I had to survive”. The video features heavy use of eggs and diamonds as metaphors for birth and fear. Check it out below.
