One of the elusive “Benjamins” from the 1997 Puff Daddy single has been found. His name is Benjamin Powell and he sounds smart as fuck.

According to his bio:

Benjamin Powell is the Director of the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University and a Professor of Economics in the Rawls College of Business. He is the North American Editor of the Review of Austrian Economics, past President of the Association of Private Enterprise Education, and a senior fellow with the Independent Institute. He earned his B.S. in economics and finance from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University.

What the fuck does any of that shit even mean?

Even more shocking is that Benjamin has been hiding in plain sight. Benjamin hosts his own PBS show titled “Free to Exchange.” This is where many experts believe Puff got his economic theories for the song.

Blocland has reached out to Powell for comment but has received no response at the time of this posting.
